Many of us volunteer their time to feed, trap, recover, transport and more community cats in Yolo County. What is a Community Cat? They are the same as feral cats. These cats have been dumped in the neighborhood, or otherwise abandoned by humans. Either due to lack of socialization while owned or due to living away from humans, they tend to not be touchable cats, but instead skittish around humans. Many spay/neuter clinics designed to help these cats will require that the cats you bring in be 'feral' and not touchable. Volunteers like you are needed to help feed, trap, transport and recover community cats in Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento and the rest of Yolo County. The more volunteers we have, the more animals can be spayed and neutered maintaining the cat population and reducing the number of kittens that are adding to our communities. If you are interested in helping, please contact Jill Souza at jill.ycspca@yahoo.com or Sharon Montooth at sharonm@yolospca.org.
